When you find yourself frequently on the go, it can be hard to get to all of the tasks you perform as a real estate agent. However, with some tips and practice, you will be able to properly manage your time and complete all you meetings, documents, and marketing tasks along with all the other items on your to-do list. 

Create a Plan & Prioritize

The first step in managing your time as an agent should be to create a plan. You have to plan ahead to get ahead. When you start getting busy, set a plan for how you will manage all of the projects that you have. 

Start by completing any time sensitive items on your to-do list, such as documents you need to close a deal. Other items that you can complete right away include scheduling social posts or appointments and making phone calls. Finishing these tasks early can free up more time in your schedule for the remainder of the day. 

Now you have to prioritize what items need to be completed first. Try to focus on maintaining your schedule so that you allow enough time to complete each of the items on your to-do list. If you have clients who are interested in taking a look at potential new homes, take the time to prioritize your clients first. Then proceed to follow up with your other tasks. 

Preparing for Procrastination

Procrastination can be one of the hardest things to overcome when trying to improve your time management skills. As an agent, you may have projects that come up that may take precedence over the current tasks you are working on. 

Try to save some time at the end of your day to catch up on some of the things you pushed to the back burner while working on new projects. While there is nothing wrong with pushing some projects, it is important to make sure that the projects still get done. You have many responsibilities and your clients are depending on you. 

If you are not fulfilling your clients’ needs, then you may harm the relationship between you and your client. By setting aside some time to finish all of those tasks throughout the day, you will be sure to stay on top of everything and make sure that you are keeping your clients as the priority. 

Time management can be a difficult thing, but with careful planning, you will be able to get a feeling of what you need to do daily so you can properly prioritize your tasks and start crossing them off your to-do list.
