The National Association of Realtors® (NAR) conference took place over the weekend in New Orleans with the final day of education sessions being Monday. On the last day of the conference, NAR attendees received a lot of information regarding blogging efforts. The “WordPress Camp” comprised of six one-hour presentations for WordPress users-beginners to experts! Here’s a little breakdown of some of the sessions:

For beginners there was a Leveraging Plugins and Themes: An Introduction to WordPress session with Nicole & Reggie Nicolay. Attendees were able to identify the basics of WordPress core functions and how they relate to theme frameworks and Plugins. And they walked away with a solid understanding of how to rock the design and feature set of a WordPress site.

Or you could start the day with Customizing WordPress: Maximizing WordPress session with Kelley Koehler from Thompson’s Realty. This session was more for seasoned WordPress users who wanted a better understanding of the code behind WordPress themes and how to manage the look and feel of your blog.

Who knew that using WordPress can help you become a recognized local community expert in your market? Just by using simple written word, photos and videos you’ll be on your way to differentiating yourself from the competition. At least, that’s what Dale Chumbley, with Prudential NW Properties, stated in his education session Community Building Strategies: An Introduction to WordPress.
