According to a comScore report for January, 234 million Americans ages 13 and older used mobile devices with 65.8 million people in the U.S. owning smartphones. What are they doing with those phones?  About 68 percent of U.S. mobile subscribers used text messaging on their mobile device, while browsers were used by 37 percent of U.S. mobile subscribers. Subscribers who used downloaded applications comprised 35 percent of the mobile audience. Your target audience is using their mobile devices in more ways than ever, and real estate professionals are faced with the task of engaging their consumers through this rapidly evolving technology.
At this conference, Chris Smith, Co-Founder of Tech Savvy Agent will be discussing the 30 mobile must-haves for technologically savvy real estate agents. It is vital that real estate agents be able to do everything they can in their office on their mobile device. That doesn’t automatically mean go out and buy the newest iPad or other mobile gadget, but agents should be up to date with the technology and utilize it in their daily business.

Here are a few mobile necessities we think agents should incorporate into their business:

QR Codes-QR codes, which can be found on billboards and advertisements, function a bit like barcodes. Users can scan it with the camera on their mobile phone and they will be linked to a website embedded in the code. QR Codes can be directed to any URL including videos on YouTube, and best of all, they are free to create and use! They can be placed on print ads for open houses, postcards, brochures, etc.

Ustream Mobile App-Users can watch live video on your device anytime, anywhere. This mobile app is especially beneficial to real estate professionals for live open houses, virtual tours, information about local communities, events, etc.

Mobile blogging (moblogging) refers to publishing to a website or blog from a mobile phone or other handheld devices. WordPress and Blogger allow you to blog from your mobile phone. The benefit of mobile blogging for real estate professionals is that it provides “real time” updates and reflection, gives accountability for progress or updates and offers you an opportunity to constantly communicate (even on the go) to your followers.

DocuSign: The official e-signature provider for the National Association of Realtors, Docusign allows contracts to be signed digitally. To use it, signers adopt a digital “signature,” then certify that it can be legally used as the electronic representation of their signature[1].
