Mobile Marketing for 2011

This emerging market saw tremendous growth in 2010, with over 234 million Americans ages 13 and older using mobile devices actively in the three month average period ending in November 2010, according to comScore.

This year, we significantly expanded our suite of mobile offerings, which includes apps for all the major mobile platforms as well as Homes.com mobile, and attracted consumers at higher than ever rates. Homes.com’s mobile website saw 60 million page views in 2010, nearly six times the amount of mobile traffic in 2009, meaning your listings are being seen by more mobile consumers than ever.

The market for smartphones, too, saw major increases in 2010. During the three months ending in November 2010, 61.5 million people in the U.S. owned smartphones, and 33% of mobile subscribers used downloaded applications, according to comScore. Throughout 2010, Homes.com remained at the forefront of smartphone technology by offering apps for all three major mobile platforms, including our newest app released in fall 2010 for the Google Android. Google Android is ranked #2 among smartphone platforms as of November 2010, and with over 30,000 downloads of our new Android app to date, these users represent a significant share of the mobile market.

Even users without smartphones, however, can still be engaged by mobile marketing. In November, 67 percent of U.S. mobile subscribers used text messaging on their mobile device. Text alerts and greetings are great ways to keep in touch with your clients or reach out to new leads.
