Since your sale signage is already grabbing attention, why not make the most of it? You can never over-communicate with your prospects! Your signage offers the perfect opportunity for you to make a first connection with people who might not already know you and your services. I’m sure you’ve already put your phone number and other contact information on your sign, but with new technology, like short codes and quick response (QR) codes; you can allow people to contact you with almost no effort. As you know, making things easier for your prospects is going to make your real estate business more successful! If you haven’t begun to use short codes or QR codes, here’s how you can start.
Also called “short numbers,” short codes are phone numbers that are significantly shorter than regular numbers for texting purposes so potential clients can text in order to receive a canned direct message back from you. If you wanted, you could have the same short code on every listing. For example, your message could say something like, “Text ‘AGENT’ to 12345 [the short code] to find out more about this agent!” And when buyers would do so, they could get a text message back with all of your contact information. You could also have a different code on each listing and include a message like, “Text ‘INFO’ to 54321 to learn more about this home!” The sky is the limit and the choice is up to you! Quick Response Codes
You may have seen QR codes around already and maybe weren’t certain how they could benefit you. These little boxy, digital works of art are the smartphone user’s key to you. When a smartphone scans a QR code, the code can do a myriad of things, from bringing up a website to downloading a PDF. You could put a QR code on your sign with a message like, “Scan me to find out more about [insert your name here.]” Then, set the QR code up to direct the buyer to your website. Just like short codes, it’s really up to you! Making QR codes is really easy, by the way; just search for a free QR code generator online (like Qurify, for example) and just follow the instructions. That’s all – it’s that easy.
The bottom line is: You’ve already held someone’s attention with the sign, why not use it to your advantage? You can never make yourself too available to your prospects!
