Pinterest, the third largest referrer of traffic to Homes.com, is rapidly growing in popularity.  Accordingly, Homes.com has positioned itself to be at the forefront of this social media movement by sharing consumer and business trends on the virtual pin board.  As such, we are proud to announce that our efforts to engage homebuyers and sellers has paid off and we were recently recognized as a finalist (alongside Elizabeth Arden and Constant Contact) in the Pinterest category for our “Pin it it You Love it” contest in the 2013 PR News Social Media Icon Awards!

Homes.com recognized for Pinterest contestThe Valentine’s Day themed “Pin it if You Love it” contest challenged homebuyers and home enthusiasts to create a “Pin it if You Love it” board and pin 10 of their favorite homes for sale or rent, complete with creative descriptions and links to the properties as found on Homes.com.  The contest generated 3,070 pins, 307 pinboards and increased traffic to the Homes.com consumer blog and website.  It’s safe to say that our very first Pinterest contest was a huge success!

No stranger to recognition in the Pinterest world, the Huffington Post recently recognized the Homes.com Organization Overhaul board as a Pinterest Account to Follow Now.”  The Homes.com Pinterest page is a must-see (or ‘follow’ in social media terms) for your homebuyers and sellers with oodles of lifestyle and entertaining ideas for the home – especially for your female clients.  According to our recent Homebuyer Search Habits survey and infographic, 80% of visitors to Homes.com and Forbes reported that a whopping 97% of Pinterest users are female!  So if you’re not promoting your brand and properties on Pinterest, it’s time to start pinning away!
